The Cycle of the Life and Passion of Christ is depicted on three folios that are illuminated on the recto and the verso. There are twenty illuminations narrating some of the episodes of the Life and Passion of Jesus Christ. The cycle starts with the Baptism of Christ, Wedding Feast at Canna, Presentation in the Temple, the Temptations of Christ, the Entry of Christ into Jerusalem, The Last Supper, The Washing of the Disciples' Feet, the Kiss of Judas, the Crucifixion, the Deposition, The Three Maries at the Tomb, The Descend of Christ into Hell (Anastasis), The Resurrection (Noli me Tangere), Road to Emmaus, Supper at Emmaus, Doubting Thomas, The Ascension, and concludes with the Pentecost, or the Second Coming of Christ. There are a number of elements in the Cycle of the Life and Passion of Christ that make it unique, exceptional and a perfect study case. Among the peculiarities found in the Cycle of the Life and Passion of Christ is the introduction of scenes that are unusual for the time period. There is also an independent use of iconography with no obvious connections to previous or contemporary examples, and there is an unfinished quality to a number of the illuminations. The exceptional quality of the Cycle presents a number of problems that need to be resolved.
