Of the group with mentors, 75.3% (n = 204) reported an ethnic match with their mentor and 63.4% (n = 170) reported that they are both from the same community. Seventy-two percent of the mentors were female (n = 186) and 28.5% were male (n = 74). The mentors were a gender match for 75% (n = 180) of the total matches; 54.6% (n = 131) were female matches and 20.4% (n = 49) were male matches. More specific aspects of these relationships were also assessed.
