of Dunedin. It served as a catalyst that
inspired Dunedin's community
redevelopment agency to revitalize the
downtown area. They came through with
$1.2 million in improvements to their main
streets, with many other improvements
along the trail being funded with federal
dollars from the Congestion Mitigation and
Air Quality Improvement program.

   One of the more notable improvements
made included the 4 million dollar,
pedestrian friendly, Cross Bayou Bridge,
which allows the trail to pass safely over
Tampa Bay. Because of this bridge, trail
users can now easily take in never before
available sights of dolphin, manatee, and
waterfowl.
