   Most of the historical district within
McIntosh is located within medium
density housing areas. Historically, orange
pickers used the homes located within the
historical district as boarding houses before
heavy freezing moved the citrus industry
south.

   The areas of low-density housing are
mostly newer homes. Most of these
houses are single-family, and are situated on
much smaller lots than the medium density
home areas.
