5.5.3 Column biodegradation III. The third column biodegradation experiment was performed to examine the effects of different environments on degradation of phenolic compounds. Column #1 was held under anoxic condition, column #2 was aerated with compressed air and column #3 had been supplied with hydrogen peroxide and maintained at a minimum dissolved oxygen concentration of 3 mg/l throughout the time of the experiment.
