List of Contributors Diane Accaria Zavala holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature and Cinema Studies from New York University. She is co-editor of Prospero's Isles: The Caribbean Presence in the North American Imaginary, Macmillan (2004). Currently she is working on a book-length manuscript titled: Straddling Borders: Narrating Literature with Cinema in Latin America. Micheline Adams is currently a Lecturer in English Language and Literature at the College of the Bahamas. Her creative writing and a travel essay have appeared in Canadian publications. Her article on Erna Brodber's "One Bubby Susan" is published in The College of the Bahamas Research Journal. Carmen Gillepsie is Associate Professor of English at the University of Toledo. She is the author of A Critical Companion to Toni Morrison and the recipient of the 2005 Ohio Arts Council Individual Artist Fellowship for Excellence in Poetry. Her poems have been published in Nocturnes and Heliotrope. Cecily Jones is Director of the Centre for Caribbean Studies and a lecturer in the Department of Sociology at the University of Warwick. Her research and teaching interests address the intersection of gender, race, class, and sexuality in the slave societies of the Caribbean and the American South. Krista A. Thompson is Assistant Professor of African Diaspora Art History at Northwestern University and an independent curator. Her book, An Eye for the Tropics: Photography, Tourism, and the Caribbean Picturesque, is forthcoming from Duke University Press. She is currently working on exhibition projects and a book on popular photographic practices in the Caribbean and U.S. South.
