Alison J. Van Nyhuis: received her B.A. in Humanities from
 Northwestern College, and is completing her M.A. in English at
 the University of Florida. Her research interests include
 twentieth-century cultural studies and postcolonial theory.

Edith Vazquez: is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of California,
 writing a dissertation entitled "Latins Materialist Poetics." She
 is currently Visiting Professor in the Department of Chicano
 and Latino Studies at California State University, Long Beach.

Don E. Walicek: is a Ph.D. student in the Department of English at the
 University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras. His interests include
 sociolinguistics, pidgin and creole languages, Caribbean history,
 and language ideology and attitudes.
