After kneeling some _ time the lady arose from her posture ; and sitting down upon the mound of earth, leaned her cheek upon her hand, in an attitude of the deepest thought- fulness; Then, as if roused from her abstraction by some sudden recollection, she started from her seat, took a slow, lingering survey of the grave, on which she had been sitting, and then walked slowly behind the church, and disap- peared. Unobserved, and probably unseen ; for
