The metaconids and metastylids are rounded, widely separated, and approximately equal in size. The entoconids and hypoconulids have rounded margins and are not widely separated. The enamel is very simple with few plications. The lower permanent denti- tions described here are similar to those of N. phlegon from Mt. Blanco (e.g. AMNH 104711). Although no comprehensive list of dental measurements has been published for N. phlegon from Mt.
