OF BRITISH HONDURAS seldom seen. The only specimen I ever took was in June, close to the town of Corozal. Its flight is exactly like that of an Adelpha. 79. PREPONA DEMOPHON (Linn). I have notes of this insect from Punta Gorda in the south. 80. PREPONA ANTIMACHE (Hub). Only recorded from the Western District. All the Preponas are very powerful butterflies of rather large size and very rapid flight. They are found in the woodlands, fly with an alternately flapping and sailing movement, and are fond of coming to rest on the trunks of forest trees. They are also attracted by the sap which exudes from certain of these trees, and then they may be seen with wings closed together and so busily engaged in feeding that it is possible to take them with finger and thumb. The butterflies are generally distributed, though not common anywhere, and I have also seen a few specimens in the north. 81. SIDERONE IDE (Hub). I have met with this handsome insect in the Western District and also at Orange Walk in the north, and San Pedro Sarstoon in the south, but it is decidedly rare. It flies very quickly, keeping rather close to the ground.
