3. MORPHO HYACINTHUS (Buti).
 This insect is recorded from the Cayo District,
but it is rather scarce.
4. MORPHO POLYPHEMUS (Doub).
 A beautiful butterfly which I have only observed
in the west, but there it is not uncommon.
 Specimens are, however, very hard to procure
for the reason that the insect is always seen flying
around the tops of the high forest trees and hardly
ever descends low enough to be taken with the
net.
 For this reason I was unable to secure any
specimens-though I have waited for hours-
except one which I picked up dead on the ground
under one of the trees.
