NOTES ON THE BUTTERFLIES


Jordan, in the published work Macrolepidoptera
of the American Region," edited by Dr. Adalbert
Seitz, gives British Honduras as a locality, but
during the whole period of my residence in this
Colony I have never met with a single specimen
though I have received a few from Guatemala.
If the insect does occur in this Colony it is
extremely rare and probably confined to a small
area in the extreme south.
 The females of all the Papilios are seldom seen,
and they appear never to leave the shade of the
forest.
