Two presenters, Mrs. Lillimae Brown and Karen St. Cyr, were sent from headquarters to hold a workshop at the school for two days. These two ladies were responsible for instruction in the mathematics and science areas. They did their endeavored best to expose the teachers to up-to-date methods in both subject areas. They helped to clarify ways in which we could strengthen or improve the methods being used today. Experiments and fun activities were also done. These were most informative and were enjoyed by all of the teachers. Another area of discussion was that of problems occurring in the two subjects. Many teachers were given tips as to how to deal with such problems. This workshop meant quite a lot to the teaching and administrative staff at the school, especially since it was the first ever of its kind to be held here. The teachers here have always had to travel to the mainland of Abaco if there was a workshop to attend. Many times bad weather resulted in a late arrival of cancellation of the trip. This act will forever be remembered and treasured. Reunion Held Another historic but fun event took place in Moore’s Island on April 19th - 13th. The descendants of Rev. Samuel and Dorothy Davis had their first annual family reunion. Relatives from New Providence and other parts of Abaco came together in Moore’s Island for their first reunion. Other relatives were not able to attend due to bad weather and the poor condition of the airport. Some were not able to attend the reunion as pilots refused to land on the air strip. Those who came by plane were surprised to see the conditions of the airport strip. Many stated that they hope the airport would be in much better condition the next reunion. In spite of all the obstacles, the family of Rev. Samuel and Dorothy (both deceased) were still able to enjoy themselves. On Friday and Sunday they attended services at the Greater Bethel Baptist and Zion Baptist Churches. The family attended a concert on Good Friday night at Greater Bethel Baptist Church.
