An INTERCROPPING system involving crops of significantly different
height. Also known as MULTI-TIERED CROPPING.



MULTIPLE CROPPINO

The growing of more than one crop ik'the same PLOT in one year.
There are many different forms of multiple cropping described by
such term; .as ASSOCIATED CROPPING, CATCH CROPPING, DOUBLE
CROPPiNG, 'NTERCROPPING, INTERCULTU%:-E, MIXED-ROW CROPPING,
MULTI-STOD!Y CROPPING, RELAY CROPPING, SEQUENTIAL CROPPING and
STRIP CROPPING.



MULTIPLE CROPPING INDEX (MCI)

The sum of the area planted to different crops harvested during
the y~ar, divided by the total cultivated area.
