‘FAITH. These men are letting a sick man down from the house-top, with ropes, into a room below, where Jesus is preaching. What does this strange conduct mean? They Want to get him into the presence of Jesus, believing, if they can, he will be healed. It is said of Jesus “that he went about doing sed “Wherever he found sick people he healed them. Soon his fame became so great, that wherever he went great multitudes followed him, bringing their sick for Jesus to - lay his hands upon them, and they were healed. . Here four men brought a palsied man, on his bed, to Jesus, for he could not help himself at all. When they reached the house where Jesus was, there was such a great crowd about the doors and in the streets that they could not get in. But they were so sure that if Jesus could see him he would heal him, that they climbed a lad- der, or in some way got the sick man on the top of the house. Then, tearing up the roof, they let him down, on his bed, into the prea of Jesus, just as we see in the picture. How the people must have wondered at this. But
