“ Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the
wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and
slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and tn
all the coasts thereof.’ — Matt. 1: 16.

Who slew the children in Bethlehem?
Herod, the wicked king.
Why did he do it ?
Because he wanted to kill Jesus.
Why did he want to kill him?
He was jealous of him.
What falsehood did he tell the wise men?
That he wanted to worship Jesus.
How was Jesus saved?
By God’s special care over him.
Will God’s plans ever be overthrown?
No; not even by kings. ‘
Who is King over all kings?
The Lord Jesus.
How is Jesus persecuted now ?
In the persecution of his people.
