‘THE LAW ON THE SABBATH. “Remember the sabbath day tokeep it holy.” Who said this? It was God, our Creator. When God created the heavens and the earth, he finished the work in six days and rested on the seventh. The Bible tells us that God blessed the seventh day and_ sanctified it. Therefore he has commanded us to rest on the sabbath and keep it holy. Weare not to use this day as we do others, but we are to cease from labor, and spend the hours unto the Lord in religious service and worship. This was his custom, to go into the place where the Jews worshiped and _ tell them. of the great salvation God had provided through himself. Breaking the law of thesabbath was one of their great sins. Often when God sent suffering and affliction upon his chosen people, he told them it was because they had polluted his sabbaths.
