BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH


 Gary Louis Allen was born November 25, 1948, in Hamilton, Ohio,

to Donald L. and Dorothea J. Allen. He completed his secondary

education in Dunedin, Florida, graduating from high school in June of

1966.

 With the help of a scholarship he attended Tulane University,

where he majored in chemical engineering. During the summer of 1969,

prior to his senior year, he worked for E. I. duPont in LaPlace,

Louisiana. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Tulane in

June of 1970. The following September he entered the Graduate School

at the University of Florida, again majoring in chemical engineering.

In December, 1971, he received a Master of Engineering degree From the

University of Florida.

 On March 18, 1972, he married Janet Moeller Schultz of

Gainesville, Florida.

 He has accepted a position with the Research and Development

Department of Union Carbide Corporation.
