My dear Sir:

I know that you will shortly be taking up an important administrative position in Washington
in which matters of policy by the Federal Government will be determined and i am writing
because, as the Vice President of the Norman Industries, Inc. of Sarasota and also as Patent
Counsel for that corporation, I know of a recent development which I believe would be of
very great interest to the Federal Government.

Our corporation has developed a lightweight portable electric generating power plant requiring
no engine more powerful than the Ordinary small motor found upon power lawn mowers. Despite
its light weight and extreme mobility, this unit develops sufficient electric current to light a
large house or for the use of the armed forces, to drive all of the machinery in a mobile machine
shop or to suddenly light with blinding effects upon attacking guerrilla forces such powerful
searchlight beams as would give the troops possessing it a tremendous advantage over the enemy.
All of these advantages are to be had at extremely low cost.

The reason that I am writing you is that I expect to be leaving our factory in Sarasota and to
return to my office in Washington about the 20th of April and could come through Ocala if
it happens that you would be in Ocala at that time and would care to see a demonstration of
an actual one of these units in action. I realize that you must be extremely busy making
preparations to leave your business to serve your country in Washington. So, if you do not
think it feasible or desirable to see this unit at Ocala, then I shall hope to be able to take
the matter up with your organization after my return to Washington.

P.S. If citizens upon a statewide scale would provide themselves with these units and
keep thorn as emergency lighting units for use in case of power failures from any source,
such as during hurricanes, it would carnplernentally provide means for taking care of
statewide blackouts such as occurred recently in the Northeast section of this country.
