The total additional funds needed to meet recalculation provisions {or 534055 biennium for Marion County amount to $14,449. The. deficit under the provision of the Recalculation Act in l953-54 was $1,925 {or the county. The deficit for l954-1055 was $IZ. 524. The increase in lS4~SS was 6.35 over the previous year. We need these funds very badly as we reduced our maintenance budget by 25 per cent this term to take care of increased enrollments and our operating reserve has been reduced to practically nothing. 1 hope that you will help us secure these funds. Forty- {our counties will be affected by this deficiency appropriation wh ch will total $3. Ill.223.
