ow that the excitement is over and the Republicans
have tau ht us how to colitic in Pinellas County, t Seems to
ac that it n3ht be wise to start worxinf up your committee in
rinelles County for our race for rovernor in '56.

if there is any assistance that t can give you, I,
of course, want you to call on me. Just by way of sutgestion,
1 that ht that it mi"ht be wise as soon as possible for gzu
to contact your known supporters in and around St. Petersburg
and build up a nucleus or an organization, assign each or your
known supporters a definite territory to be reasponsible for
and have him go into that territory and organize it, eventually
carryinr the organization down to a city block.

One of the big troubles with the Democrats that I
have observad here is the lack of organization, particularly on
the erecinct level, and I find it totally lackinc below the
precinct level. If such an organization were started now, with
plenty of tine to work and no pressure, in my opinion, it would
be ready to re when the campaign starts in January of '56. Also,
it seems to me that if the organizational work were started now,
a much smaller demand on the time or any individual would be
made when it is time to ro to work in January '56.

If you agree with these sentiments, I want you to
know that I am ready to accept any responsibility that ;ou
want to place on me and do anything that I can to assist.
