nominated for Speaker of the House of Representatives in
1953. Please accept my congratulations and best wishes
to you for a most successful term.

With all of the confusion and corru t politics

that have resulted in shaking the confidence a great
many peeple in good government, I certainly feel that it

is a healthy and encouraging sign to see a man of your
type with your ability and background of honesty and
integrity selected for this osition or trust. I look

back on the time when I was aker of the House as one

of my most pleasant experiences. I am sure that you will
