Dear Farris,

Pleaee pardon me for not answering your letter of ay
13th before now. I found myself faced with a huge backlog
of work when my campaign ended and too, we are now in the

middle of our Spring term of Circuit Court, all or which
has kept me on the go lately.

I am not personally acquainted with Mr. Roberts of Live
Oak, but I have inquired around and from all reports he scene

to be a person of high moral character, intelligent and well
liked and respected in his community. From this I feel that

he is going to be a good man and will very likely make a good
record in the legislature.

If you have not received his pledge to support you for
Speaker. please let me know and I will go to Live Oak and see
him about it. I do have some very good friends in Live Oak
who will be glad to help me in any way they can in the matter.

Please advise me.
