LAW ornccs / WILLIAM G. O'NEI LL ttcei trntr- R. 0 IO! 3" DCALA. FLORIDA-32570 RAMDOLFN {YUCHKIHIR u 1- n t L OI Id '0') 00. August 26, 1964 Mrs. Lucille Rogers Governor's Office Capitol Building Tallahassee, Florida Dear Lucille: Enclosed is a copy of the memorandum regarding the Bryant Day Celebration. Hr. Joseph Fordyce, President of the junior college, is making rather elaborate plans for this day. I had a note from the Governor several weeks ago saying we would discuss this in detail during the time we were at the Democratic Convention. Since I was unable to be at the Convention, 1 do need to know the following information: 1. Is the Governor still acceptable to the type of proposal which I outlined previously. namely, that of a dedication program at the junior college and a dinner at night? 2. Is the date of Friday, October 30, 196, acceptable? 3. Any suggestions as to how he would like to have the program tailored. Also, this past weekend 1 attended the Jaycee Convention in Lakeland. The Ocala Jaycee's were very disappointed that the Governor did not schedule Ocala on his speaking tour, and at the Board of Directors meeting yesterday it was discussed, and I was directed to see if it would be possible for the GOVernor to attend one of the Jaycee meetings on Monday night sometime this fall. As you can tell, the Governor is extremely popular with a large segment of the Marion County Community and they want so much to honor him between now and January. I know it is very tiring for him, but I do hope he will be able to accept these invitations. Sincerely, KW? Randolph C. Tucker, Jr. RCT:js
