One thing is certain, the “land of the After- glow” still remains. Its rosy light glows long after the sun has sunk behind the western woods; but whether the little man in gray still makes this region his home is a doubtful point. The writer has sometimes thought she saw him vanishing in his sudden way as she came upon him, but very sensible people have told her it was a freak of her imagination, and very likely they were right; but she is save that she has often seen —no, on second thought she will not say what she has seen, for you, too, dear readers, might think she imagined it, and that would grieve her sorely.
