last having lost all patience, he resolved to venture
to the court, where he asked admittance, but was
refused by the guards at the gates. However,

Full of joy inexpressible she conducted him into
the throne-room, and herself carried him up the
steps and seated him in the throne. Then she ran
and fetched wine in the king’s own cup and offered
it to him.

No sooner had the Ram drunk out of the royal
cup, seated in the royal throne, than the spell that
had been cast over him came to an end, and he was
changed back into his original form, a beautiful
prince, and immediately, with immense rejoicing,
