Of time for them to find a place;
Could human folk their wants supply
As readily as Brownies spry,
Ah! many a one without a roof,
Or garment that is weather-proof,
Would soon be free from want or cold,
And all life’s comforts snugly hold.

Commissions in the Brownie band
Are not for sale, no gaps exist,
The ranks are full, complete the list.
So none need hope, as Brownies bold
