face, and a straw hat upon her head with
yellow ribbons, which gave it a gay appear-
ance, and altogether she looked very nice.
In her hand she carried a small basket, and
a little switch in the other, which she
stretched out towards Hurly-Burly, and said,
in a friendly voice, ‘Little boy, come and
help me to gather wild strawberries; they
are so good! And there are such a lot of
them here! Come on!’
