assured us that we had their confidence. I'm glad E---- wrote a letter to Kansas City, because he has been trying to cause confusion by saying that he was still with the Church of the Nazarene. But I think we are about through with the trouble he can give us. He's sorry he overplayed his hand now and wishes he'd been a little more careful But we aren't. This has been the Lord's deliverance. April 18-Have switched to another lawyer to get us legally prepared to buy property and build. I don't know how long it will take to do everything, but I hope that we can get a definite idea soon so that we can get started. We don't exactly know what to do about building. We've looked at lots and have found some we like, but we hate to go through the grief of building only to move to Gonaives in a short time. What we are trying to do is work out a plan so that we can have our cake and eat it too!! We've been trying to decide what my title ought to be here in Haiti. They don't use "Reverend" and I didn't think I ought to call myself "Eveque" ("bish- op"). So Mary helped me out and we decided that probably around Christmas we could start calling me "Father." This time we are taking careful pre- cautions. The doctor doesn't want Mary to do any traveling except what she has to do in town. I think the Lord is going to see us through this time. I enjoy visiting in the mountains. The people are so nice and the country is beautiful. I just hope the rains don't start or I won't be able to visit any but the stations in the plain. Next year, I'll plan my early visit in the winter, maybe March. April 19-The Lord has just led us through the biggest crisis of our work.
