 numbers of stems per root. However, a special banana study indicated about 30
 pounds per stem in Jamaica and 25 pounds per stem in most other areas. Stems per
 root estimates ranged from 0.26 to 0.54 in 1946 and 0.18 to 0.86 in 1958.
