STATUTORY MINIMUM REMUNEIATTON. The Agricultural (Minor Crops) Wags Council hereby gives notice of its intention to submit to the Governor proposals foV fixing the statutory minimum remuneration specified in the said Schedule. The Wages Council will consider any written representations with respect to these proposals sent to it within 10 days front 27th April, 1954. Any such representation should be signed by the person making the same (giving his or her address) and sent to the Secretary of the Wages Council at the address stated below. The minimum rate of remuneration payable to all workers paid daily employed in the fields of the Minor Crops industries (coconub, cotton, peanut, potatoes, etc.) shall be as follows : Male 984 per day Female 750 per day Provided that where a worker is employed on piec-worlk the employer should be deemed to pay wages at less than the minimum rate unless he shows that the piece rate would yield, for eight hours of work, to such Worker not less than the minimuni of wages prescribed.
