The following notices issued by the Government of Barbados are published for general information :- The owner, captain, or person in charge, of any vessel or ship arriving in Carlisle Bay from a port in another territory who desires that his ship shall enter the Bridgetown careenage is here- by warned that as from 1st January, 1954, no such vessel or ship will be per- nitted to enter the said careenage if there is on board such ship any animal in respect of which an import permit has not been obtained from the Director of Agriculture. No animal may be imported into the Island unless a permit has been obtained from the Director of Agriculture to import such animal. Any person desir- ing to import an animal should accord- ingly apply to the Director of Agricul- ture for an import permit before initiat- ing import arrangements. No import permit is valid nuless signed by the Director of Agriculture or the Veterin- ary Officer. The con editions under which an animal may be imported will be stated on the import permit issued in respect of such animal, and permission to land the animal will not be granted if the importer has failed to comply with the specified conditions. 9th February, 1954.
