mnation that a Telephone Operators
Training Conrse will be held at the
Kingstown Telephone Exchange com-
mencing on 1st March, 1954.
 2. Applications for places on this
Course should be addressed to the As-
sistant Superintendent of Telephones,
Kingstown Tel-phone Exchange, and
should reach him not later than .3.00
p.m. on 20th February, 1954.
 3. Future 'leleplhone Operators will
be racruit-d from ;ninong those persons
who have successfully completed the
Course.
 4. Further particulars may be obtain-
ed, on application from tlie Office of
the Assistant Superintendent of Tele-
phones, Kingstown.

 IMPORTATION OF ANIMALS INTO
 BARBADOS.
 The following notices issued by the
Government of Barbados are published
for general information:-


 The owner, captain, or person in
 charge, of any vessel or ship arriving in
 Carlisle Bay from a port in another
 territory who desires that his ship shall
 enter the Bridgetown careenage is here-
 by warned that as from 1st January,
 1954, no such vessel or ship will be per-
 Initted to enter the said careenage if
 there is on board sIch ship any animal
 in ri.-spect of which an import permit
 has not been obtained from tlie Director
 of Agriculture.
 No animal may he import d into the
 Island unless a permit has been obtained
 from thf Director of Agriculture to
 import such animal. Any person desir-
 ing to import an animn] should accord-
 ingly apply to the Director of Agricul-
 nure for an import permit before init;at-
 ing import arrangements. No import
 permit is valid unless signed I)y the
 Director of Agriculture or the Veterin-
 ary Officer. The conditions under
 which ant animal may be imported will
 he stated on th- import permit issnud in
 respect of such aniiail, and permission
 to land the animal will not Le granted if
 the importer has failed to comply with
 the specified conditions.
