The equipment can be viewed at any time during office hours on application to the office. Tenders will be received at the office up to and including the 31st January, 1952, and will be treated as confidential. 18th January, 1952. (Q. 9/1946). Consumers and wiremen are advised that it is an offence to install any appli- ance having a power factor less than 80%. It has been observed that Fluores- cent lights have been installed without, Power Factor correction equipment i.e. Condensors. It is well known that Fluorescent lighting has a very low power factor that is to say that a considerable amount of current used, is known as Wattless and does not register on the ordinary meter. It is my intention to inspect all Fluo- rescent lighting installations, and dis- connect those without power factor correction. 25th January, 1952. No. 4 engine at the Power Station will be closed down for overhaul about the 2nd week in February. Load shedding will be inevitable from 6.15 p.m. to 9 p.m. and all consumers are asked to minimise this by using as little as possible. Every effort will be made to avoid inconvenience. J.
