PLATES) The attention of persons who own the type of vehicles mentioned above is drawn to the provisions contained in Regulations 20 and 21 and all amend- ments thereto of the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic Regulations 1959, whereby no licence may be issued or renewed for such vehicles unless the Inspector certi- fies that the vehicle complies with all the provisions of the Ordinance and these Regulations. The Inspector of Motor Vehicles will be available at Police Headquarters daily from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. except on Sunday and PublicHolidays to. en- sure that all the above mentioned vehi- cles are inspected and are roadworthy before January 31st, 1972. Regulations 20 (6) requires that these- vehicles, are examined twice annually,. that is before 30th June and 31st De- cember each year. INCOME TAX NOTICE TO ALL EMPLOYED PERSONS Every person deriving Income from any employment or by way of pension is hereby reminded that the latest date for the submission of Income Tax Returns for Assessment in the year 1972 is the 31st January, 1972, and that failure to give notice of charge- ability is an offence against the Income Tax Ordinance, rendering the person concerned liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS and in default of payment to imprisonment with or without hard labour for a term not exceeding four months, and after judgement has been given for that penalty to a further penalty of fifty dollars for every day during which the refusal, failing or neglect to render any document con- tinues. 2. EVERY PERSON whose income accruing in, derived from the State or (, *-,whore and whether received in the State or not for the preceding year, exceeded the statutory limit of $600.00 is required to submit a return on the prescribed form notwithstand- ing that on account of approved de- ductions no tax may eventually, be chargeable, and particular attention is directed to the fact that the term "income" is deemed to include not only money but also allowances in kind. 3. Efforts are being. made to send forms -to such persons through their Employers or Heads of Departments (in the ease of Government Employ- ees). It is to be clearly understood, however, that the Income Tax Depart- ment is under no obligation to send a return to anyone and that a person is not exonerated from the statutory liability of making a return even
