DEPARTMENTAL AND OTHER NOTICES. THE GAMBLING, LOTTERIES AND BETTING ORDINANCE 1968 It is promulgated for the information of th, general public that applications for the grant of Betting Licence or a Permit to carry on such business as is mentioned in paras. (a) and (b) of Sub- section 1 of Section 30 of The Gambling, Lotteries and Betting Ordinance 1968 or a Permit to operate a Pinball Machine under Section 15 of the said Ordinance or Pinball Machine Licence will be con- sidered on 15th December, 1970 at Police HIeadquarters at 4.30 p.m. Applications addressed to the Chair- man must reach the Authority not later than Monday, 23rd November, 1970. Any person who desires to object to the grant by the Authority of any par- ticular Permit or Licence should send to the Authority before the 23rd November, 1970 two copies of a brief statement in writing of the grounds of his objection. THE GAMBLING, LOTTERIES AND BETTING ORDINANCE 1968 Persons desirous of making applica- tion to carry on the following: (a) business of receiving or negotiat- ing bets or conducting betting operations, or (b) by way of business in any man- ner to receive or negotiate bets or conduct such operations, or (c) to operate a Pin Ball Machine are requested to note that it is necessary to obtain- (a) a permit, and (b) a licence Application should be made on Form 1, and it will be necessary for the ap- plicant to state in the application the following information: (a) date of birth, (b) office and usual place of resi- dence, (c) place of residence during the past five years, (d) that during the 12 months pre- ceding the date of the applie a- tion, he has not been refused the grant or renewal of such a per- mit, and (e) two references as to character. It should further be noted that in making an application for a licence, the applicant should state- (a) that he is the holder of a permit,, and (b) submit a plan, sufficient to show the lay out and location of the said premises and the means of access thereto. In addition, the applicant should com- ply with the following: (a) send copy of application to ap- propriate police officer, (b) publish in the newspaper circu- lating in Saint Vincent, a notice of the making of the application, not later than twenty-eight days before the hearing of any such application, (c) send copy of newspaper contain- ing publication to the Authority not later than seven days after advertisement. Persons wishing to object to the grant of a permit in respect of any premises should send to the Authority two copies of the grounds of objection, not later than ten days after publication of ad- vertisement.
