5. Liabilities of hirer. The person who hires one or both of the
 buildings shall-
 (a) leave the building or buildings clean;
 (b) be liable for any damage to or loss of Government property occurring
 during his occupancy;
 (c) pay from the amount deposited by him in pursdance of the provisions of
 paragraph (3) of rule 3 of these Rules such sum as may be certified by
 the Superintendent to be due for damage to or loss of Government
 property.

 6. Termination of occupancy The occupancy of the buildings may
 be terminated by the Administrator upon giving to the hirer three hours' notice
 in writing, in which event the rent payable shall be calculated on the actual
 time of occupation.

 7. Buildings not to be sublet. The buildings shall not be sublet.

 8. Precedence of application. If more than one application is made
 for the hire of the buildings, or either-of them, for the same period, or part of
 the same period such applications will be considered by the Superintendent in
 the order in which they have been received by him:
 Provided that where more than one such application has been received by
 the Superintenden-r on the same day both from persons resident in the Colony
 and persons not so resident, the applications from persons resident in the Colony
 will first be considered in alphabetical order of their surnames, and the applica-
 tions from other persons will next be considered in alphabetical order of their
 surnames.

 9. Time-limit of applications for hire. Applications for the hire
of the buildings for any period beginning more than one month, or less than one
week (except in urgent cases) after the date of the application, will hot be
considered.

 10. Responsibility of Caretaker. The Caretaker shall be responsible
to the Superintendent for the Government furniture and household articles in
the buildings and for the scavenging and general sanitary conditions of the
buildings.

 13. Revocation. The Young's Island (Rental and Control) Rules, 1954,
(R.O. 1954, No. 1) are hereby revoked.
