(iii) Actual revenue amounted to $430,511 as against an estimate of $184,719 and at the end of the year $30,328 was due for reimbursement from Her Majesty's Government. 14. Savings Bank. Please see Appendix XIV. The excess of liabilities over assets-$12,855-is shown as a foot-note on the Statement of Assets and Liabilities at Appendix I. The total number of depositors in 1954 was 2,234 as compared with 3,326 at the end of 1953. 15. Public Debt. This is shown in Appendix XIII. The Public Debt at 31st December, 1954, amounted to $637,875 and the accumulated funds for its redemp- tion is $173,218 as compared with a Public Debt of $543,267 and accumulated funds of $159,203 at the end of 1953. V. TRADE. 16. The total value of the Colony's visible external trade in 1954 was $9,726,400 of which Imports were valued at $5,456,000 and, Exports at $4,270,400. The corresponding figure in respect of the previous year was $7,878,411 of which Im- ports were $4,504,320 and Exports $3,281,091. The increase of $1,847,989 in the value of Imports and in the value of Exports was due prncipally to the importa- tion of prefabricated buildings and arrowroot machinery, also the rise in volume' of the principal items of exports. 17. A comparative statement of these items is shown in Table B and a similar statement in respect of Imports for the seven years ended 31st December, 1954, and the prewar year 1930 is shown in Table A. 18.
