 Legislation making currency notes
issued by tih Government of Jamaica
legal tender in the Eastern Group of
British Caribbean Colonies ani currency
notes issued by the Board of Commis-
sioners of Currency, British Caribbean
Territories (Eastern Group) legal tender
in Jamaica. h;is 'een nacted in all of
the Colonius referred to and such legis-
lation will be brought into effect by a
Proclamation issu<a in each Colony on
1st October, 1955.
 From 1st October, therefore, travellers
to Jamaica from Barbados. British
Guiana, Trinidad and Tobago, the Lee-
ward Islands and the Windward Islands
may take with them British Caribbean
currency notes, and receive the face

in each of the Colonies named.
 The attention of all persons in this
Colony is drawn to the fact that cur-
rency notes issued in Jamaica are legal
tender and must be accepted at face
value in payment of any amount.

 It is hereby notified for general information that in the event of a hurri-
cane threatening or approaching the Island, the following warnings will be
given:-


 CAUTIONARY

 centre will be flown on
 Police Headquarters.
 (2) Loudspeaker and Radio
 Announcements
 (3) Three saluting guns will
 be fired.
