REGIONAL ECONOMIC COMMITTEE OF THE BRITISH WEST INDIES, BRITISH OUIANA AND BRITISH HONDURAS "Phe l egional Economic Committee invites applications from suitably quali- fied persons for the following post: BRITISH CARIBBEAN STUDENTS LIAISON OFFICER IN THE U.S.A. at an annual salary in tie scale of $4,400 x 240-$5,120 (U.S.). A representation allowance of $1,400 (U.S.) per annumi and a House allowance of $1,400 per annum are payable. Passages on assumption and termination of appoint- ment for the Liaison Officer and family up to five in all from and to the place of engagement will be paid. 2. The post does not at present carry pension or superannuation rights. The appointment will be for three years in the first instance. 3. Candidates should be University graduates conversant with experience of life and the educational system in the U.S.A. and should preferably have at- tended a U.S.A. University. 4. The duties of the post include ad- vising students generally in securing places for them in approved universities, and in evaluating af U.S.A. degrees in relation to their equivalent in the United Kingdom for purposes of recruitment to service in the British Caribbean terri- tories. The Liaison Officer will keep Governments informed of educational developments in North America and keep students in touch with employ- mnt opportunities in the West Indies. 5. The Officer will be responsible to British Caribbean Governments for the execution of his duties but in the matter of local discipline and administration, responsible to the U.K. Colonial Attache in Washington. He will also be re- quired to assist the Colonial Attache as occasion demands in the execution of certain of his routine duties relating to the West Indies. 6. Headquarters will be in Washing- ton under the aegis of the British Embassy. 7.
