The attention of all importers is in- vited to the provisions of Section 15 of the Second Schedule to Ordinance No. 27 of 1954, dated 20th July, 1954, which prohibits the importation of any fresh carcass whether frozen or chilled, or New Zealand, Australia, and the United States of America, and (b) in accordance with the terms of a permit granted by the Agricul- tural Superintendent: The provisions do not apply to any Importations made on behalf of the Government of the Colony: or any cooked or sterilized meat imported in hermetically sealed containers. Attention is also invited to Control Notices appearing on pages 146 and 155 of the issues of the Government Gazette for the 17th and 25th May, 1955, respect- ively, wherein meat and meat products from Denmark and Holland are specifi- cally prohibited, except when sterilized and put up in hermetically sealed con- tainers, certified by a Government Vet- erinarian of the country of origin, and that the certificate accompanied each consignment. It is to be clearly understood that any meat or meat product arriving in the Colony in contravention to the above provisions, and without the requisite cer- tification, being invoiced subsequent to the 30th July, 1955, will be confiscated; consequently importers having unexe- cuted orders in unauthorised places are advised to cable instant cancellation of such orders so as to obviate any further loss.
