BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE to provide an arbitration tribunal for the settlement of disputes in Public Utility Undertakings and in Public Health, Hospital and Sanitary Services. [ On Proclamation. I Enacted by the Legislature of Saint Vincent. 1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Public Utility Undertakings and Public Health Services Arbitration Ordinance, 1951. It shall apply to trade disputes in any of those Services rendered by whomsoever to the public which are particularized in the Schedule to this Ordinance and in any others to which the Governor by notice in the Gazette shall declare that the Ordinance shall apply. 2. In this Ordinance unless the contrary intention .appears the following expressions have the meanings hereby respectively assigned to them, that is to say- lockout" means the closing of a place of employment, or the suspension of work, or the refusal by an employer to continue to employ any number of persons employed by him in consequence of a dispute, done with a view to compelling those persons, or to aid another employer in compelling persons employed by him, to accept terms or conditions of or affecting employment; organisation" means an organisation representative of employers or an organization representive of workers as the case may be; Short title and application.
