At the direction of the Central Hurri- anle Committee a brochure is in course of preparation containing : .,(1) detailed arrangements for warn- igs in the event of the approach of hur- ficanes and.concerning the organisation of hurricane relief; (2) nominal roll of Hurricane Comni mittees; (3) information on the relationship of Central Committees to District Commit- tees; (4) supply Services; (5) protection and Reserve Services; (6) shipping arrangements, and a number of other directions and ar- rangements which will become operative in St. Vincent and the St. Vincent Gren- adines in the event of storm warning and if hurricanes materialise. Pending completion, publication, dis- tribution and sale of this brochure, the customary Notices are meanwhile being published hereunder for information and guidance, It is hereby notified for general Information that in the event of a hurricane threatening or approaching the Island, the following warning will be given:- WARNING THAT A HURRICANE IS THREATENED. Day or Night. Church bells in towns and villages will ring for one period of three minutes. HURRICANE APPROACHING THE ISLAND. Day or Night. Church bells in towns and villages will ring for two periods of three minutes with an interval of 10 minutes. Applications are invited for the post Sof Headmaster of the Boys' Grammar School in St. Kitts, which will be vacated by the present holder on the 31st Decem- ber, 1950. The school roll at present numbers 110, and courses are offered up to the Higher School Certificate exam- ination of Cambridge University. 2. The post is pensionable and carries a salary scale of $2,640 by $120 to $2,880. A temporary cost of living allowance of $240 per annum is also payable and free quarters are provided for the Head- master. The appointment will be on probation for 2 years and subject to the passing of satisfactory medical examina- tion. 3. Applicants should possess a degree of a University within the British Commonwealth, preferably in Mathem- atics and Physics. Teaching experience will be regarded as an asset and the appointment will be made at a point in the salary scale commensurate with the applicant's qualification and experience. 4.
