GRANT FOR ROAD CON- STRUCTION PROGRAMME, ST. VINCENT. The Administrator has been pleased to receive the approval of the Secretary of State for the Colonies of a further Free Grant of Seventy-two thousand dollars ($72,000.00) under Development and Welfare Scheme No. 1466 to assist the Colony of St. Vincent in the implement- ing of its 1950-56 Road Construction Programme. One hundred and twenty thousand Dollars ($120,000.00) of Development and Welfare funds, under Approved Scheme D. 619, have already been spent on road machinery and road development in St. Vincent. 12th September, 1950. No. 441. -OPENING OF EXTENSION HOSPITAL- BENTINCK LODGE. The Extension Hospital, Kingstown, will be opened by His Honour, the Administrator, on Wednesday, 20th September, 1950, at 4.00 p.m., at a short formal ceremony at the Bentinck Lodge (now converted into an Extension Hospital), next to Victoria Park.
