 GOVERNMENT AND ASSISTED PRIMARY OC'OOL
 (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS.

 (Gazetted 18th July, 1950.)

 1. Short title. These Regulations may be cited as the Government and
 Assisted Primary Schools (Amendment) Regulations, 1950, and shall be read as one
 with the Regulations for Government and Assisted Primary Schools made by the
 Governor in Council on the 3rd day of February, 1938, (hereinafter referred to as
 the principal Regulations) and all amendments thereto.
 2. Regulation 39 revoked and replaced. Regulation 39 of the
 principal Regulations as revoked and replaced by the Education (Governi ent and
 Assisted Primary Schools) (Amendment) Regulations 1948 (S.R. & 0. 1948 No. 83)
 is hereby further revoked and replaced as follows :-
 39. Each school shall in every year be classified as of 1, 2, or 3, in
 general efficiency within its grade. Any school failing to attain the 3rd class
 of efficiency shall be regarded as inefficient. The recurrent failure of a
 school to attain at least the 3rd class of efficiency shall make the Head
 Teacher thereof liable to be proceeded against under Regulation 69, on a
 charge of neglect of duty."
 3. Regulation 69 further amended. Regulation 69 of the principal
 Regulations as amended is hereby further amended by inserting after the words
 class or status in the fifth line thereof the words stoppage of increment ".
 4. Regulation 81 Revoked. Regulation 81 of the principal Regulations
 as revoked and replaced by the Education (Government and Assisted Primary
 Schools) (Amendment) Regulations 1948 (S.R. & 0. 1948, No. 83) is hereby revoked.

 Made by the Governor in Council under section 29 of the Education Ordinance,
 1937, (No. 29 of 1937) this 30th day of June, 1950.
