583 7-4.53.3 Morphophonemics of jani The final vowel of jani drops in noun phrases and when modifying nominalized verbs; in negative information questions and answers thereto; with the Imperative; and with verbs subordinated with a sentence suffix, uka, or sa.nma embedding. 7-4.53.31 Negative noun phrases or nominalized verbs These are derived from the basic negative state- ment. When modifying the head noun in a noun phrase, jani loses its final vowel, except that when modifying an interrogative, jani loses its initial /ja/.
