(e) affect the powers and responsibility
conferred upon the Commissioner of Police by
the Police Act, 1951, as amended, and any
regulations made thereunder, in respect of
appointments, promotion and discipline of all
ranks of the Police Force below the rank of
[nspeetor; or of the powers and responsibility
conferred upon the officer in charge of prison
discipline, the Keeper or the Visiting Justices
by the Rules and Regulations for the Govern-
ment of the Prisons. made by the Governor
in Council on the 18th day of August, 1909,
as amended, in respect of discipline « of subordi-
nate officers.

16. These Instructions shall come into

operation on the 19th day of January, 1956.
