(¢) affect the powers and responsibility
conferred upon the Commissioner of Police by
the Police Act, 1951, as amended, and any 12/1951.
regulations made thereunder, in respect of
appointments, promotion and discipline of all
ranks of the Police Force below the rank of
Tuspector; or of the powers and responsibility
conferred upon the officer in charge of prison
discipline, the Keeper or the Visiting Justices
by the Rules and Regulations for the Govern-
ment of the Prisons made by the Governor
in Council on the 18th day of August, 1909,
as amended, in respect of discipline of subordi-
nate officers.

16. These Instructions shall come into Commence-
operation on the 19th day of January, 1956. cia
