An Ordinance ‘to amend the protection of
Trees and Conservation of Soil and Water
Ordinance, 1954.

KNACTED by the Legislature of the Virgin
Islands.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the
Protection of Trees and Conservation of Soil and
Water (Amendment) Ordinance, 1955, and shall
be read as one with the Protection of Trees and
Conservation of Soil and Water Ordinance, 1954,
hereinafter called the Principal Ordinance.

2. Subsection (2) of section 4 of the
Principal Ordinance is hereby amended by the
insertion between the word “Council” and the
full-stop at the end of the subsection of the
following words and comma “as to the necessity
for making the order, the extent to which it
should be made and the conditions which it
should include’”’.

3. Section 8 of the Principal Ordinance is

hereby amended by the deletion therefrom of the
words “after due notice has been given to the
owner or occupier thereof” and the substitution
therefor of the words ‘‘ without notice’,
