PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE PREVENTION OF PrapiaL Larceny. 14. (1) A Community Committee may authorised nominate any person to the police officer in charge Perss.. of a Division in the Presidency concerned to be an authorised person. (2) It shall be lawful for such police officer, on the nomination of any person as provided in subsection (1) of this'section, and with the sanction . of the Administrator or Commissioner of the Presi- dency concerned, as the case may be, to appoint the person so nominated to be a person authorised to arrest and deal with suspected persons in accordance with the provisions of section 16. (3) Such police officer may at any time revoke any appointment made under subsection (2) of _ this section. (4) Every appointment or revocation of an appointment under this section shall be published in the Gazette. (5) A Community Committee shall have power to pay remuneration to and exercise control over authorised persons within the declared area in respect of which such Committee has been appointed. 15.
